About the Library

Our history, mission, and commitment to knowledge

Welcome to Kibogora Polytechnic Library

The library, home to the best study locations on campus, provides a variety of services to enhance the student learning experience and support the institution's academic purpose. KP Library houses a broad and diversified collection of academic resources, both physical and electronic, to facilitate learning, research and discovery.

The institution is divided into two campuses, the main campus and the Rusizi campus branch, each of which houses roughly 10,000 physical volumes and provides access to subscribed periodicals as well as free open-access databases and electronic periodicals.

Our History

Established in 2010 alongside Kibogora Polytechnic, the library has grown from a small collection of 500 books into a comprehensive academic library serving over 3,000 students and 100 faculty members.

In 2015 we launched our digital library initiative, giving students 24/7 access to e-books and academic journals. Today we are one of the leading polytechnic libraries in Rwanda.

Our Mission

To empower students, lecturers, and researchers by providing equitable access to information and fostering a culture of intellectual curiosity and lifelong learning.

Our Vision

To be a centre of excellence for academic information services in Rwanda, supporting innovative teaching, learning, and research through modern resources and services.

Our Values

The library works in the spirit of the Kibogora Polytechnic motto, Science, Faith and Conscience: rigorous scholarship, service to others, and integrity in everything we do.
